Too is when w want to show  unsatisfactory, about something to say that is too fat too slow too heavy. More than wanted or enough. while so means a great size, amount of an item. However in like this sentence should I say so or too and what's the difference between the two adjective situations. The sofa is so/very big. The sofa is too big. Not small enough.

I am not sure I got your question or not , but yeah you usually use too as an adj , suggesting that it's a negative thing . It is more or less than u wanted it to be .

The main difference between so and very is that" so" can be an adj and an adv ,whereas " very"is only an adj .

Too is an adv and an adj  , depending on the sentence .

Is that your question , dear ?

There were too many people for such a small room. There do many people for such a small room. The main difference is,...??

The second sentence : there ARE many people for such a small room . U are just saying that there are many .
But the first one , saying too many , makes me notice u dislike that.
Too as an adj ,like in the first sentence , usually suggests a negative thing as I said .
Is it clear ?
