We talked in al-Ain University's blog earlier about how to turn school time into an interesting time, but after a long vacation spent entertaining, sleeping and spending the most fun time with family and friends, the days pass quickly to get back to school or university again, and conflicting feelings of joy, anxiety and perhaps sadness felt by students to return to school seats and exams. After a long period of brain rest away from study, duties and exams, many are the ones who carry the burden of adjusting to school again, if you are one of those we offer you this article a set of steps to make you ready to re-enter the study atmosphere after the vacation
First: Psychological readiness
You have to prepare psychologically to return to school by preparing yourself to leave the habits you were following during the vacation period such as
Organize bedtime at least a week before school
Browse new subjects quickly
Remember previous subjects and compare them to new ones
Daily reading training (at least one hour each day)
Set a pre-schedule for school days
Encouraging oneself to study, raising morale and optimism
Getting used to the activity and stay away from laziness
It is recommended to follow the previous steps about a week before school or ten days as the longer the mind and body prepare for study, the better in terms of educational attainment and in terms of adapting to the study period
Second: Health and physical readiness
Before returning to school, you should follow a healthy diet to fix what the leave has ruined in your mind and body as a result of wrong eating habits that affect brain and mind health and negatively affect public health such as fast food, ready-made candy, etc.
Eat healthy foods that develop brain and brain health such as: vegetables of all kinds fruits especially (berries, grapes, cherries, pumpkins, bananas, apples
I replace chips and fast food with healthy crisps such as nuts, especially nuts, raisins, hazelnuts, almonds, and chocolate is also important, especially black chocolate, which significantly increases intelligence and does not affect weight.
Replace soft drinks with healthy drinks that positively affect public health and brain health such as ginger, mint, cinnamon, hibiscus, and, of course, natural fruit drinks.
Try to exercise daily at least half an hour or walk a quick step, the healthy mind is associated with sports that break down blood circulation and distribute blood more healthily and regularly to all parts of the body, especially the brain.
Take a break for at least three days to rest your eyes, try reducing the time you sit in front of the TV and computer to give your eyes a break before they're stressed out in studying and reading.
Third: Preparing to study
Start early.
The appropriate period for starting study is one to two hours after waking up, so it is recommended after returning from school or college to nap from one to two hours and then waking up and studying
Arrange your papers.
Arranging papers, notes and books before starting school helps 70% to get the time done and get the most information and understanding about whether things are scattered here and there.
Start with the hardest.
It is recommended to start scientific materials that require more mental effort, not at the expense of any of the other materials
Setting goals
Before starting school, you must set the objectives of the review or study and determine what is required to be done within one day, with a plan prepared for the next day, and so on.
A comprehensive view
In the study period, the student needs to start with a comprehensive look at the scientific subject he studies and note its division, purpose and most important topics.
Call the information
The student's test comes to himself by summoning the information he read and categorized in his own style and style.
All these elements will enable the student to adapt again to the school atmosphere, and do not forget the role of parents and the environment surrounding the student, which contributes greatly to encouraging him to excel and achieve education constantly
Good luck, and I'll see you at the top.
