English language

English is a Western Germanic language, which originated in ancient Anglo-Frisian dialects, entered Britain by settlers, or Germanic invaders, and used vocabulary different from the European languages of the same era.

The evolution of English

Primitive English

Germanic languages have been given additions to English, perhaps the most prominent of which are The Frisian, Saxon, Jute and Angel, and what is referred to as the fact that some peoples such as the Everings were fighting, trading, living with Latin speakers living in The Roman Empire, and this has continued for centuries and many of the expansion process established by the Germanics in the era of migration, which in turn has led to the introduction of many Latin words into English, such as Cup, bishop, wine

Old English

The old English has varied more than modern English, most of the people speaking it today find old English vague and incomprehensible, yet English remains Germanic, as the majority of words and vocabulary used in modern English are rooted in ancient English. It has retained many advantages of the pronunciation and vocabulary of ancient English, and the use of ancient English has been continued until the 12th and 13th centuries, and it is worth mentioning that English was greatly influenced by Noria, which is one of the Northern Germanic languages spoken by Nordics who settled and invaded the north-east side of England, where English borrowed nearly 2,000 words from the ancient Nordic language, including hit, take law, leg, leg, skill, sky, window, sky, window,

Middle English

Middle English was influenced, first by Anglo-Norman, and later by Anglo-French, where many vocal changes were made in the 14th century, but spelling conventions remained rather stable and English was transformed into a far and wide field through the spread of the standard dialect of London-based, as well as the record effect of printing, which contributed to giving this language conditions associated with self-awareness such as Dialect and accent, with the advent of the William Shakespeare era, English became a well-known language in modern English, with the first English dictionary published in 1604.

Modern English

Samuel Johnson published the first full English dictionary in 1755, known as the English Dictionary or Dictionary of the English Language, and the English dictionary was a standard for the use of the English word and spelling, and what is referred to as the late modern English and early modern English differs mainly in vocabulary, and the universal standardization of the language, perhaps the most prominent feature of this language is that it has adopted many foreign words from many countries, as pronounced by nearly 400 million people English American, British English, except for That the pronunciation of British English was considered the traditional standard
